Yeah, but what were the odds?

I mean, one minute I'm sitting on the floor staring at my sizeable DVD collection and thinking, "haven't watched that in a while," or "wow, never did get around to watching that." And the next thing I know, my hands are bound behind me, my arms are pinned to my side, and I'm gasping for air.

And it's in this state that I hear, "Do you want some mean leg rope?" As if I might turn that down. If you've met me, you know I almost always want to be tied up. More rope is rarely a problem.

And then I'm on my side, face pressed into the carpet praying I don't see some tiny critter scamper under an easy chair. Rope is indeed around my ankle and thigh, it's being pulled tighter until I can't even fight it.

"You doing okay?"

The phrase "living the dream" is actually appropriate here. I don't think of that until later. For now, I'm in a haze. I probably couldn't name one of those films I was staring at earlier or even which section of the alphabet it was.

There's no escaping this. Despite my near constant wriggling and struggle, I don't want to. The struggle is the point. Externalizing my frustrations and fighting against something physical is why I I crave this.

Yep, just another Tuesday night as we try to survive a pandemic.
